As the sun moves through the twelve signs of the zodiac, the universal patterns of life exert their influence over humanity and all creation.  Most people are aware of their birth sign, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, etc. etc. and even consult horoscopes in newspapers or magazines.  These give a very general overview of what is about to happen - a more accurate picture can be derived from the plotting of an Astrological Chart.  A precise chart can forecast major events or trends in one's life and many people live their lives by what the stars say.

In order to plot your own chart you will need to know the date, time and place of your birth.  You will also need an ephemeris or information about the position of the planets at the exact moment when you were born, plus a blank chart and information about the aspects of each planet.  It can take several days to plot a chart but once complete you will feel immensely satisfied.

Less commonly known is the theory that as well as exerting an influence at the moment of birth, planetary aspects and positions are crucial to the development of the personality at the moment of conception, therefore to get a completely holistic profile of your potential, you should aim to plot a 'Conceptual Astrological Chart' otherwise known as CAC.  The moment of conception is not always easy to establish, as many babies are born premature or late or even vary greatly from predicted dates, however, as a rough guide you can deduct nine months from the date of birth, so for example, if you were born 30 October 1956, your conceptual date might then be taken as 30 January 1955, which means that Aquarius would be your sign of hidden potential.  If you know that you were definitely early or late then please calculate the dates accordingly.  It is well worth the effort to be as precise as possible as this will reveal to you aspects about yourself that may have otherwise remained hidden or unfulfilled.  For example, you may have a talent for music about which you knew nothing, until your hidden potential was revealed.

Scorpio:    Scorpion people are recognizable by their prominent facial features, often a roman or straight nose, determined chin and penetrating eyes.  They have intense personalities and project a strong animal magnetism, however their downfall is their biting tongue, finding it easy to spit out venom when they wish to hurt someone.

Scorpions are creatures of mystery and dark secrets and have hidden depths within them and a strong conviction in what they do.  Even their silences will have you waiting in anticipation for their next move. 

Although often deeply spiritual people, the Scorpion can also be a dangerous enemy (or friend) and many will turn to crime in order to accomplish their ends.  Mentally you have strong reasoning powers and will win many an argument or debate.  You are keenly perceptive and analytical and have an interest in political issues. 

In love you are passionate and often intensely jealous.  You demand total fidelity from your mate and if you discover disloyalty they will not be given a second chance.  You find it difficult to let go of resentment and become quite destructive and suspicious when your defences are down. 

Your ideal career would be detective, soldier, investigator, politician, surgeon or anywhere that you can use your researching abilities. 

Sagittarius:  Sagittarians are naturally expressive, energetic and assertive individuals who find it easy to fit in and adapt to various circumstances.  They are adventure-seekers who enjoy the freedom of travel and open air pursuits. 

Sagittarians are intellectual thinkers who enjoy stimulating conversation.  They find it easy to evaluate different opinions and use their good judgment soundly.  Their ideal vocations would include translator, religious figurehead, lawyer teacher, or sportsperson.  They have an affinity with horses and dogs.

In love you are ardent, sincere and conventional but you need your freedom as you cannot stand feeling trapped.  You are likely to settle down with someone of a different nationality or religion or you yourself may settle abroad.  In any event it is likely that there will be a great deal of foreign travel for you.

Physiologically you could have problems with the hips, thighs, sciatic nerves or rheumatic and pulmonary complaints. 

Capricorn:  Ruled by Saturn, Capricorns are essentially self repressive, passive, restrained, with qualities of enterprise and practicality. 

Traditionally you are cautious, methodical and work patiently and perseveringly to achieve your desired results.  Your life may not always be easy but you are resilient and your self-discipline will help you through most of the problems that you encounter.  You are able to plan carefully, coolly and deliberately to achieve your ambitions and you do not give up easily.

Mentally you can be cool and calculating and can appear quite a severe and down to earth person to others.  In love you are a serious and faithful lover and enter into relationships with an element of cautious reserve. You don't find it easy to demonstrate your affection but will stick by your mate through thick and thin.

Your ideal occupation is working for the benefit of the community or a business, for example, as a scientist, manager, headmaster, engineer, politician, farmer or mathematician.  You exercise authority and constructive systems of production and administration.

You value your independence and have an instinctive need for self-sufficiency.  Physiologically you could suffer afflictions of the knees, skin and digestive upsets through over acidity - often as a result of worrying and suppressing your emotions and feelings.

Aquarius:  You are communicative about subjects that interest you but can appear aloof and reserved with people whom you do not relate to.  You have an active mind and like to stretch it through further education and achievements.

You have strong ideals, humanitarian feelings and are an original and progressive thinker.  Once you have identified your aim you put intense energy into reaching it and have a revolutionary and unorthodox approach to problem solving.

Pisces:  You are passive and emotional with qualities of intuitiveness, adaptability and variableness.  Pisceans are typically sensitive souls with a warm, compassionate and easy going nature.  You cannot bear to see suffering in others and are quickly moved to tears.  You often keep your innermost feelings to yourself and find it difficult to conform to rigid behaviour patterns.

You have psychic, mediumistic tendencies and should listen to your dreams. Pisceans are never happy when they are acting against their own instincts. 

Mentally you are receptive to others and impressionable - being able to see situations from the other's perspective.  You are sensitive and emotional and can express your innermost thoughts through poetry or music. 

You will do anything possible for those you love as you are intensely emotional and lovable, but you could feel confused and disillusioned by the cold realities of providing for a family and find independence an alien experience.
